Oh! Zzhu Sam Korean Restaurant is a home-style Korean restaurant that focuses on baby octopus stir-fry. One of the special services they provide is to make fried rice at your table using the stir-fry you have ordered. Aside from the shady neighborhood and the tinted windows Oh! Zzhu Sam Korean Restaurant achieved a very high score to our standard. The small octopus stir-fry cost $36 which drives the overall cost up to $22 per person, but it is reasonable considering we were enjoying fresh seafood. If you enjoy Korean food, we recommend giving Oh! Zzhu Sam Korean Restaurant a try.

Salted Egg Yolk Cookies from TK Food

Among the salted egg desserts we have tried, the Salted Egg Yolk Cookies from TK Food is the least successful candidate because the only relationship it has to a salted egg is on the labeling. We cannot recommend this product.

Shiny Tea at Aberdeen Square

Shiny Tea's quality is comparable to Hanlin Tea House, if not identical. The lower cost for the same tea comes without the wonderful interior decor Hanlin Tea House has. The price tag of $5.49 is cheaper than Hanlin, which makes Shiny Tea the perfect tea station for a quick grab and go.

Monga Fried Chicken

For $10.90 per chicken breast cutlet, this large snack is going to fill you up. I was most impressed with the thickness and the juiciness of Monga Fried Chicken's chicken meat. It is one of the best deep-fried chicken cutlets Vancouver has to offer.

Sutah Ramen Hot & Spicy Noodle Soup by Samyang

Samyang's Sutah Ramen is pretty cheap at $4.97 for a package of 5. That's only a little more expensive than $1 per package after tax. I like the texture of their noodle, which is clearly advertised on the packaging. The spicy flavour is good but the soup base is a little boring. I would recommend this ramen for people who enjoy the chewy texture of noodles. It's a luxury to be able to enjoy this at home. I would probably try to make my own soup base though.

Boiling Point Personal Hot Pot Franchise in Burnaby

To be honest, I don't know why Boiling Point has such a long line up. Sometimes, I just feel like going there especially when the weather gets cold. This establishment really gives me the feeling that they treat everything like an assembly line. The soup has lots of taste, and that's what Boiling Point is good at, but it's obvious they come from artificial flavouring. There is evidence showing the ingredients are not fresh, and everything is overcooked except the raw egg in the pot. Every hot pot is so packed with ingredients that there's no room for things to cook properly, so the gel fueled flame's only purpose is to keep things warm. That being said, I guess what attracts customers the most is their competitive price as a hot pot. If you want to get a hot pot for less than $20, your options are probably limited to Boiling Point, and food court hot pot.

Assembli Custom-Made Salad and Pizza

I think $14 per pizza is a fair price to charge because of the space required for customizing pizza. The authentic pizza places are more expensive, but they also have a better topping selection, so we cannot compare Assembli to them. If we compare all the big name franchises like Pizza Hut, Fresh Slice, and Domino, etc, Assembli is more expensive, but also has more of an artisan feel to it.

It's a shame Chicken Winner's signature dish is such a trouble to enjoy. You need to have either extremely high tolerance to spicy food or superhuman patience so you don't accidentally ingest sharp chicken bones. The 3 of us came here and ordered 4 dishes which came to $30 per person. This price is more than fair for the quality of food and the exciting varieties of spiciness. We would definitely recommend it as long as you don't order the Stir Fry Diced Chicken With Chili and Pepper signature dish.

If I was writing a review for Kowloon Chinese Restaurant a year ago, they would have been rated near-perfect. Ever since their reopening, I find a decline in taste and food quality. The storeowner's connection to the local students is still there. It is heart-warming seeing many international students away from home having someone to talk to, so I think Kowloon is doing something right. It is worth mentioning that the store owner is very nice and generous to allow customers to bring outside drinks to enjoy with their mala dry pot. Our visit cost us $30 per person, and that is not cheap. I really hope they can pick their flavour mojo back up.
