Thai Express, Best Shrimp Basil Fried Rice

The Basil Shrimp Fried Rice was very well done. Each grain of rice is separate. It has a lot of wok taste that even some of the full-on restaurants are not able to create. The eggs were from a squirt bottle but it did not affect the texture. There are also lots of shrimp. The saltiness is at a good level. If you don’t think it is spicy enough, there is a bottle of sriracha hot sauce that pairs perfectly with the fried rice.

Dolar Shop Richmond Hot Pot

Dolar shop has a very steep price point of $50-$60 per person. Their ingredients lived up to the name of Dolar, and their services are superb. The interior decor make you feel like a princess. Everything is awesome except the price. For people who does not have to worry about money, Dolar Shop is definitely the go-to place for personal hot pot. As for me, I would only come here to treat my parents or an important client. Awesome restaurant, but not recommended for monthly visit.

Dole Pineapple Pop, Healthy Popsicle

For $8 per 8 in one package, this is $1 a pop (definitely pun intended). 100% pineapple juice make this a healthy snack for all ages. Next time I find these, I’m definitely going to stock up. I assume a lot of people will have the same thinking as me.

Kirin Seafood Restaurant, Dim Sum on Cambie

Kirin Seafood Restaurant is one of the oldest high-quality Cantonese Seafood Restaurant in Vancouver. They have been around for a least 20 years. During this time, Kirin continued to adopt new recipe and never downgrades their food quality for a higher profit margin. That is respectable. This Kirin Seafood Restaurant is located on Cambie and West 12th Avenue in Vancouver, on the 3rd floor of City Square.

Daily Delicious, Sea Salt Bread and Salted Egg Yolk Croissant

Daily Delicious’ sea salt bread is very buttery. The bread is sturdy to the bite. The exterior of the bread takes a bit of effort to break off. This bread is nothing like those unnatural puffy baked goods you buy from most Cantonese bakery. Internal air pockets indicates the bread is baked with added grease (probably butter) before mixing, then butter is rolled into the bread before baking. There is sea salt to give slight bursts of flavor when you find one. The bottom of the sea salt bread is brown and crisp from butter. These are the highlights of this bread.

Yi Fang Taiwanese Fruit Tea

Yi Fang’s Brown Sugar Pearl Milk Tea use traditional slow cooking method to cook the brown sugar’s sweetness into the pearls. The pearls are added to the cup before the milk to create interesting patterns inside the transparent cup. If you start drinking right when you get the drink, you’ll find it too sweet. You will also find the pearls warmer, and very soft to chew on. It is highly recommended to shake well before…

Brown Sugar Milk Tea Boba Ice Cream Bar

The actual brown sugar boba ice cream bar cannot retain its own shape. It needs to be stored in a much colder temperature than consumer grade freezer. Most of the ice cream bars I open are too soft. The brown sugar on the outside increase friction to the packaging. Merely the force….
