Grab n Go

The Poke Guy

The Poke Guy is truly a poke shop with integrity in mind. They use high-quality rice that is comparable to Tamaki Gold. It is properly cooked to create that separate rice grains that are just a little sticky, but not lumped together. The fish are flavorful even without the sauce. They only use wild-caught, Ocean-Wise seafood, and the owner says they wouldn’t have it any other way. We highly recommended this place to any Poke lovers out there.

Achino salted egg yolk and boba ice cream bar

Considering Archino is following the footstep of the Brown Sugar Milk Tea Boba Ice Cream Bar, we do not think this salted egg yolk & boba ice cream bar did well. Aside from the salted egg yolk flavour being unevenly distributed which made the flavour inconsistent, the boba’s texture also wasn’t very pleasant. It’s true that this is still a tasty ice cream bar which gives you a sweet and savory alternating taste. We just expected more for a $2 per pop ice cream bar.

Teapressu Bubble Tea

the store is using these ingredients with care to create high-quality tea. We have been going to their food truck for many years and their tea quality hasn’t declined at all. The price point is fair, especially in today’s cost standard. They have a few kinks to work out, but Teapressu is a bubble tea store that we highly recommend.

Michi Craft Kitchen

Michi Craft Kitchen’s Taiwanese restaurant is an above-average approach to both the cost and quality of food. The price is up there, but the food quality is playing catch-up. While the spicy Michi was pleasantly seasoned, there is nothing special about the chicken wing and sticky rice. Having to spend the effort on de-boning the chicken wings and stuffing sticky rice in them and charge customers $7 per chicken wing makes me wonder how they stay in business for over a year. Both of the rice dishes we have ordered have good taste. However, we would appreciate a more honest approach to rice/sauce proportion.

Assembli Custom-Made Salad and Pizza

I think $14 per pizza is a fair price to charge because of the space required for customizing pizza. The authentic pizza places are more expensive, but they also have a better topping selection, so we cannot compare Assembli to them. If we compare all the big name franchises like Pizza Hut, Fresh Slice, and Domino, etc, Assembli is more expensive, but also has more of an artisan feel to it.

Coco fresh tea and juice franchise on Kingsway

Most of the large tea in Coco is in the range of $5 to $6. My 3 guys cost $6.40 because of the toppings. Coco’s large size drink uses the long and narrow deceiving cup. It is because of this, I prefer Chatime over Coco. All prejudice aside, Coco’s drink has a good flavour. They are not aiming to be the top of the line bubble tea place, but they are the good enough tea shop when it’s convenient to you.
