Nana’s Green Tea, Japanese Matcha Dessert Franchise in Vancouvr
Nana’s Green Tea is a very good matcha dessert shop. They lived up to their name, everything related to matcha has a rich taste to it. It is well controlled so it doesn’t taste bitter. The cost of $8 per person on average is a little high, but their premium matcha is from Kyoto. It is very authentic and nothing is watered down. Please note that they also serve Hojicha dessert, ramen, and Donburi. I would definitely recommend Nana’s Green Tea.
Nana’s Green Tea is a Japanese franchise for matcha desserts. I lined up for 45 minutes when they first opened in Kerrisdale. About a year has past, I came here today and there was no line up. Perhaps there are too many other matcha specialty restaurants opened afterward. Nana’s Green Tea is located on 41st Avenue, near Arbutus Street, Vancouver.

Nana’s Green Tea Logo
They use the matcha whisk silhouette as the logo. It kind of look like an elongated crown. This is a very elegant way to create logo graphic.
Matcha soft cream with Shiratama Azuki
The soft-serve ice cream looks very dark. The ice cream has is an explosion of matcha
Matcha Shiratama Parfait
The Matcha Shiratama parfait is the most popular item at Nana’s Green Tea. It is filled with goodies. The hard ice cream also has a lot of matcha
Matcha Roll Cake
We ordered this matcha roll cake to go. It is wrapped in a clear plastic film to retain its shape. This is matcha
It is different from what I remembered
The first time I bought this, the top had a layer of matcha powder. For some reason, they are not on this order. Also, the middle green sponge cake should have been Matcha Jelly. There is definitely a decline in food quality.
Matcha Cookie
The matcha cookie is about half an inch thick. It is dry and crumbly, but the inside retained enough moisture. I believe there is a serious amount of matcha put in. This item has the most matcha flavour, but not to the point of bitterness.
