Starbucks’s New Iced Honeycomb Lavender Latte
I’m happy to see Starbucks focus the new flavor hype on the few keywords, Canadaian, and Natural honeycomb. These are something Vancouverite are into. However, I did not…..
Starbuck’s new Canada exclusive Iced honeycomb lavender latte just came out earlier this week. We were really eager to try this Starbucks new flavor drink.
When I got the drink, I can see clear distinction of top layer of thick foam with honey drizzle. The second layer is the espresso mixed with milk. At the bottom, I could see a layer of honey precipitation.
Starbucks adopted the new no-straw rule. My first sip from the top is very foamy, and not very refreshing at all. This is not what I look for in a cup of iced latte. However, it is not all bad. The cream on top has a rich taste of fresh cream. It also has a little sweetness from the honey drizzle on top.
It is not until the 3rd sip that I tasted the coffee. The coffee tasted like unflavored iced latte. Taste of lavender is not very pronounced, and the honey are mostly precipitated at the bottom. Without the straw to stir my drink, I shook my drink vigorously after I was half way through. My drink tasted like honey iced latte after.
I think the espresso, milk, and sweetness from the honey are well balanced. Unfortunately, the taste of lavender is not very pronounced. Perhaps, it needs another pump of lavender syrup.
I’m happy to see Starbucks focus the new flavor hype on the few keywords, Canadaian, and Natural honeycomb. These are something Vancouverite are into. However, I did not see or taste any honeycomb in my drink. Starbucks should remove the word “Honeycomb” and call this “Iced Honey Lavender Latte” instead.
Don’t get me wrong. Starbuck’s new Iced honeycomb lavender latte is a tasty cup of beverage. I just believe that a $5.51 grande sized drink should be packed with more natural ingredients to live up to the hype.
