Freshslice Pizza
I ordered two slices of pizza for $4.90, one “basic”, one “feast”. The serving speed was instant. I even received a smile from the staff. The topping are not overly generous, but acceptable. Nothing taste out of the ordinary. we can see the crust rise evenly, an indication of a yeast with grease premixed dough. The texture is consistent. Nothing too hard to bite. The bottom crust has good structure. I was able to pick up the pizza by the crust without much dipping down. The bottom is not soggy. This is a decent pizza for its price.
Freshslice Pizza is a Canadian pizza chain founded in 1999. They are the first pizza chain that offers a thinner crust in my memory. They are not your typical delivery pizza stores like Pizza Hut or Domino. The majority of their customers are walk-in.

Mix and match your pizza
Freshslice is more like a grab-and-go pizza joint who sells pizza by the slice. They do offer cooked whole pizza and uncooked pizza at a discount rate. Freshslice pizza’s advantage is you can mix and match different
Small store packed with people
We were at the fresh slice pizza in Metrotown. The counter in the middle separates the working area and customer’s area. They use 4 televisions to display their menu. The store looks relatively clean.
There isn’t a lot of space in here. All the seats were taken. There is a narrow aisle where people line up. It’s supposed to funnel people out the store, but a lot of people turn back to find seats. This becomes a choking point in the store.
Pizzas are on display
Freshslice Pizza simplified their menu by categorizing their pizza into either “Basic”, of “Feast”. The difference is in the amount of topping, with “basic” pizza cost $2.15 per slice and “feast” pizza costing $2.75 each.

Environmental friendly lid needs work
I was happy to see Freshslice on the forefront to eliminate straw. This lid has a protrusion for the mouth to suck on. However, it needs another opening to allow air in. The paper cup was literally losing its form when I suck on the lid. This can be a simple fix by poking a hole on the other end.
604 Food Critic Assessment
My experience in Freshslice Pizza was pleasant during this visit. I got decent pizza for less than $5. However, my previous visits in other locations suggest that the quality of their pizza may differ by location. I would recommend Freshslice if all you are looking for is a quick grab-and-go dinner.
