Bing and Noodle World
Look at this picture and tell me how thick you think the soup is. Bing and Noodle World’s signature hulu noodle looks like vomit in a bowl. There is a lot of starch added to the soup. All the toppings are chopped to the point that I cannot recognize what they are. The noodles are overcooked, kind of matching the texture of the soup. I honestly cannot tell if I am eating the soup or the noodle. The thick soup does a good job at retaining heat. This bowl of noodle burned my mouth multiple times. Perhaps it’s a good bowl of noodle during Winter, but I did not enjoy it during my visit.
Bing and Noodle World specialize in stuffed pancake, which is the first word of their name “Bing”. You would think they should be very confident in their stuffed pancake to call themselves as such.
To be complete honest, the stuffed pancake is not bad. They have thin and sturdy crust. The filling thickness are easily 3-5 times thicker than the crust. Perhaps it’s the filling I ordered, there is a strong moldy smell to my stuffed pancake. I don’t know what to make of it, but I won’t be ordering this dish again. You are welcome to go and try the moldy pancake.

Bing and Noodle World is a restaurant focused on serving stuffed pancake (Bing) and Noodle. They serve large portioned bowls to make sure the meal fill you up. This type of cuisine is considered as Northern cuisine from China. The restaurants is right on Granville and West 65th Avenue.
The facade is facing Granville with surface parking off the side. There isn’t not much color on the outside, only simple black and white for bold impression.
Wood interior finishes for warmth
The interior of the restaurant has approximately 30 seats. Most of the furniture are wood. This provides visual warmth to the space. Seeing Bing and Noodle world serves hot noodle soup, this place would be perfect for warming up during winter. The straw light fixtures are pretty interesting to look at.
Visually open kitchen serves no purpose
We can see a piece of glazing separating the dining area and kitchen. However it is not serving the intended purpose. The kitchen is still quite secluded. As a customer, I cannot see how my food was prepared.
Wood table sign and chopsticks
I find the wood table number sign something cool to have on the table. Having them not fully fixed to the tables made me ponder. The chopsticks is quite crude at the front tip. I guess it doesn’t really matter when you are using them to eat noodles.
Two types of hot sauce
Bing and noodle world provides two types of hot sauce for every table. The one with darker color are chili power steeped in hot oil to release the chili’s fragrance. It has a simple flavour. This type of sauce can see in most Northern Chinese cuisine. The one with brighter color have a bit of vinegar added. The sour taste is supposed to help create flavour variation to the noodle.
Cups are old and chipped
The tin mug has a traditional look. Bing and Noodle world placed their own logo on it. I’m not sure if they are trying to create a vintage look or if they are simply too cheap to replace these mugs. I wonder if there is residual saliva in those chipped areas throughout my visit.
Tofu Mixed Chrysanthem is Okay
We ordered the Tofu Mixed Chrysanthem as appetizer. It doesn’t taste too bad. The chrysanthem is relatively crunchy to make this dish refreshing. This dish has good amount of seasoning, but not too salty to eat on its own.
Noodle soup is Okay
This noodle soup is just okay. It’s not bad, but nothing outstanding. The noodle is not overcooked, and the soup has good flavour. Compared to Sip Bowl, there is something missing in the soup base.

604 Food Critic Assessment
Bing and Noodle World serves Northern Chinese cuisine. The cuisine types heavy relies on carbohydrate, and un-delicate with large portion. With the price point of $20 per person, you can almost go for brunch at OEB Breakfast Co. in Yaletown. When compared with similar cuisine type like Sip Bowl, Bing and noodle world is lacking both frontier of soup flavour and noodle texture. Not recommended. We suggest you to spend your money somewhere else.
