Among the salted egg desserts we have tried, the Salted Egg Yolk Cookies from TK Food is the least successful candidate because the only relationship it has to a salted egg is on the labeling. We cannot recommend this product.
After reviewing so many salted egg yolk pre-packaged desserts, we came across the salted egg yolk cookies from TK food. The TK brand has been selling this type of cookies for a while, but I think the salted yolk flavour is new. You can buy TK Food’s cookie from any T&T Supermarket in the lower mainland.
Strength: Dense cookie that can fill you up when you’re hungry.
Weakness: Lacking in texture

Salted Egg Yolk Cookies Package
The packaging features pretty pictures of the cookies and salted egg in the front. We purchased this 100g version in case the cookies don’t taste good. There is a lot of yellow colors used on the box, partly to denote egg yolk’s color.

The nutrition facts are located on the side of the package. Carbohydrate and fat are the two main component of the cookie.
Individual Package for each cookie
The individual packages have simple white and bright yellow color. These pastries are quite rich, so it’s not possible to finish this box in one seating. It is necessary to have these packed individually to keep the cookies fresh.
Puff pastry texture
Once I opened the individual pack, I see this ugly looking square cookie. The edge is a little serrated and there are some holes for expansion while cooking. The thickness is little more than 1/4 of an inch.
Not a lot of salted egg flavour
This cookie reminds me of puff pastries. The grease separated the flour to create a flaky texture. It is relatively fluffy and crispy for a cookie and the individual kept them fresh. However, there is no discernible flavour of salted egg. If they take off the label on the packaging, I would probably never have guessed this is a salted egg snack.
