Hanlin Tea House Franchise Afternoon Tea
Hanlin Tea House serves very good and refreshing bubble tea. It is such a pleasant surprise that they also serve high-quality afternoon tea desserts. Paying $20 for a plate of 6 bite-size snacks is a little expensive, but you get to try most of what Hanlin Tea House has to offer. If you share this order with another person and order a drink, the $15 per person visit to Hanlin Tea House is actually quite reasonable.
Our last visit to Hanlin Tea House was so pleasant that we’ve decided to visit them a second time. This time, we came for afternoon tea, which also seems to receive a lot of positive feedback from foodies around Vancouver.
Strength: High quality ingredients making high-tea quality snacks
Weakness: The quantity is quite small for its price

Cakes on display in the cooler
There are 4 kinds of cake on display in the cooler. I have not tried all of them, but two of these cakes are included in the formulé BOX.
formulé BOX poster
At the end of the ordering counter, one can see the formulé BOX promotional poster. It indicates high-quality organic ingredients.
formulé BOX for $19.99
Formule box $19.99
The formulé BOX is Hanlin Tea House’s version of the afternoon tea set. Our order costs $20 and consists of two tiers container. We received 3 pieces of sweet and 3 pieces of savory snacks.
Beef Radish Toast
We started from the savory plates from the first tier. The beef radish toast is a small piece of the beef sandwich with a layer of thin radish on top. The bread was firm and the radish provided some crispy texture.
Spicy Salmon Roe Sandwich
The spicy salmon Roe sandwich is a small triangular sandwich with two edges rolled with fish roe. This sandwich has a light seafood flavour. The bread is firm like the beef toast.
Apple Chicken Croissant
I admire the courage to use apple to compliment chicken salad. This sandwich gets its crispiness from croissant and the thinly sliced granny smith apple. The chicken feels quite moist from the salad dressing. I enjoyed the moisture and its taste.
Hokkaido and Cranberry Scone
The cranberry sone can be a little dry. It has a small bite-size so I washed it down with my drink with ease. On the other hand, the Hokkaido cake is a sweet cream cake wrapped in whipped cream. This cake has a wonderful sweet cream flavour which makes Hokkaido a fitting name. The Hokkaido is a little on the sweet side, but the tiny size leaves me wanting more.
Tropical Opera
The Tropical Opera is mango layered cake. The yellowish layer has a strong mango taste. There are other layers made of cream and thin cakes. Mango and cream go together very well but the cake was a little too dense.
