Ben Gong’s Tea offers one of the best bubble tea you can get in Vancouver. Their revolutionary tea jelly cubes have balanced flavour between tea and sweetness. It adds a shot of tea’s taste to the drink and offers an alternative for customers who don’t want to have chewy textures in their drinks. The store has interesting decoration including an artificial tree and the staff strive to offer excellent service. With the use of fresh milk and carefully picked tea, the price for $5.45 (large) and $4.99 (small) is the lowest we have seen in the lower mainland. I would definitely recommend giving Ben Gong’s Tea a try.

Ben Gong’s Tea has its first location opened in Richmond, and they opened a new location in Burnaby in August. This newly opened location is discreetly located on a small street off Kingsway. The nearby fitness center makes parking almost impossible to come by. Ben Gong’s Tea is a Chinese operated bubble tea location. They sell bubble tea, but their signature item is actually the tea cubes in milk.
Strength: Wonderful flavour balance without configuration.
Weakness: The location is too discreet with limited parking

Ben Gong’s Tea front
Ben Gong’s Tea is located in a new building with brick as a base building material. The storefront uses a brown colored aluminum system to fit into the bricks, which made the store a little hard to stand out. The black and white signage is a bold statement that catches the attention of customers and the graphics on the glazing looks quite unique.

The front ordering counter is quite close to the front door. There are two monitors above to display the menu. The right portion of the store is a private area for the workers to produce milk tea, so we are naturally guided towards the left to the seatings. There are 3 artwork on the wall and they are being used throughout the store on the cups, merchandise, etc.
Ben Gong’s Tea Logo
Ben Gong’s Tea’s slogan is to concentrate on tea’s original taste. Their logo is simply a black background with white words on illuminated signage. I like the simplicity of the concept, but I think the actual product looks too messy. There are too many things going on at once that it becomes too difficult to get the point across.
A Wishing Tree In The Store
Ben Gong’s Tea placed an artificial tree in the store where patrons can write their wishes on. I can see this becoming a totemic element of the store.
Merchandise for sale
Next to the ordering table, customers can find the packaged loose tea leaves for sale. They are packaged with the paintings displayed in the store.

There are lots of toppings behind the counter. The slanted stainless steel large bowl contains Ben Gong’s Tea’s revolutionary tea cubes.

Ben Gong’s Tea provides high quality milk tea with fresh milk and carefully chosen tea leaves. My Oolong Tea Cube Milk with normal ice and sugar level tastes very crisp and refreshing. There is rich oolong tea flavour, and not too sweet. The ice level was perfect that they are mostly melted when I finished my drink. It is worth noting that the drink taste pretty good even with 0 sugar because there are some sugar already added to the tea cubes.
It is worth mentioning that the pearls served at Ben Gong’s Tea also has very high quality. They are chewy throughout with s little sweetness.
Customer’s Satisfaction Guaranteed
It was interesting to see a bubble tea shop willing to correct their product if a customer is not satisfied. This type of customer service usually happens only either when the store is unconfident or if the store is flexible and willing to make every customer happy. Ben Gong’s Tea is definitely the latter of the two. I think they have learned from their past that my tea tasted really good without any modification.
