Marulilu cafe is similar to Moii cafe nearby. They are both Japanese themed cafe except one focus on breakfast while the other focus on crepe and bubble tea. I came here a couple of times and really enjoyed their all-day breakfast. Both of these cafes have really thoughtful decorations or tableware that would make you smile. Marulilu cafe is located right on Broadway, near Cambie Street, Vancouver.
Strength: Niche Japanese cafe serving all day breakfast
Weakness: South facing small storefront limits foot traffic exposure

How Marulilu Cafe works
Mrulilu Cafe is a small cafe with approximately 20 seats. You can order and pay at the front counter before sitting down. The server will bring the food to you. They are known for their rice patty burger and all-day breakfast. Throughout the store, you can see interesting elements like a board of photo from their weekly photo contest.
Cute Tableware
I was here for a simple breakfast around lunchtime. My coffee was served in a ceramic mug, and my creams are served in this small cute cup that looks like a duck.
All-day Breakfast
The plate C breakfast I have ordered came with egg, hashbrown, and sausages. They are good ingredients like organic egg and gluten-free hashbrowns. The hashbrown is McDonald’s style patties rather than the ones you get from brunch places like OEB Breakfast Co., or The Gray Olive Cafeteria.
Fresh waffles with cream and syrup
I think the waffles are really worth it. The exterior is slightly charred to give it a crispy texture. Of course, the interior is very fluffy. It comes with unflavoured whipped cream and one with chocolate flavour. Eating the waffle with the whipped cream and syrup is heavenly.
604 Food Critic Assessment
I feel my lunch breakfast at Marulilu is a very good deal. For $11.49 I got breakfast made with ingredients other brunch places may charge an additional $5. The waffle is really well made to give me the sugary boost to start my day. The meal would be only $6.50 if I didn’t get the waffle. I know the Marulilu is just a small cafe, and the food may not be that professionally made. However, it feels really personal. I would definitely recommend this small Japanese Cafe.
Menu
I find the menu a little more complicated than it has to be. Basically Plate A and Plate C are the same things, 2 organic eggs with 2 gluten-free hashbrowns. The difference is the choice between toast for $6.49 or waffle for $11.49. Their counterpart of Plate B and plate D is pretty much the same but the egg and hashbrowns are replaced with yogurt or house salad.
